I don't regret loving him, not for one second. I only regret that he never trusted me enough with the actual truth.
If anyone genuinely cares about the real lesson buried inside all of this, here's mine to offer. Choosing love takes real bravery, certainly. But choosing truth instead? That's actually how you survive it, in the end.
